Hello, my name is Alex Day, I am also known as Road Runner Photography. I am a young person based in Southern England with a passion for photojournalism.
I typically document protests however, I also picture events outside of protests such as The Royal Family, politicians, art installations, press shoots, charity events and much more. I also often take stock images.
I have an official press pass from UK Press Card Authority (UKPCA), which is recognised by every police force in the UK and the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) among various other organisations/bodies in the United Kingdom.
I currently work freelance through Avalon.red one of the leading international press photo libraries worldwide. My photos can be seen on multiple news and media licensing websites, such as Newscom and Picture Alliance through Avalon. In the past I have also worked freelance for Alamy and done some work on behalf of charities.
My work has been published by various newspapers/magazines in the United Kingdom, Europe and even South America. Most notably in the UK my photos have been used in The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sun and The Mirror. In Europe biggest papers to have used my photos are Deutsche Welle and Euronews.
To see some of the photos in news outlets take a look at my clippings page.
I am not currently looking for any more long-term work. However, I am open to short term work opportunities (such as shifts) so please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to offer them.
