A photo of me covering a protest turned riot in September 2025

My name is Alex Day, although on social media I am known as Road Runner Photography. I am a young person based in Southern England with a strong passion for photography, most notably photojournalism.
Although I am reasonably new and to doing photography professionally, I have been enjoying every minute. Typically, I cover protests, but I have also pictured anything from the Royal Family to Notting Hill Carnival and constantly looking to expand.
With me being a student, I work freelance. I have worked with a handful of charities and companies. Currently I am working for Avalon.red one of the leading international press photo libraries worldwide. Giving me valuable experience in the field of press work.

My photography can be seen in a wide range of publications from magazines to newspapers. Most notably my work has been in The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sun, The Mirror, Deutsche Welle and Euronews. These images and many others can be seen in my clippings page.
I am a member of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ), and I have an official press pass from UK Press Card Authority (UKPCA), which is recognised by every police force in the UK and the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) among various other organisations/bodies in the United Kingdom.
